n8n integration
For agencies. Start an n8n workflow when a client comments, replies or approves, and reply to or resolve comments from your workflows.
Install: in n8n go to Settings → Community nodes → Install and enter n8n-nodes-tweaktick (npm page). Works on self-hosted n8n today; n8n Cloud shows it once n8n verifies the node.
Your n8n must be reachable from the internet. TweakTick sends trigger events to your n8n's webhook address. Use n8n Cloud, or a self-hosted n8n on a public https address. Private and local addresses (such as localhost, 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x) are blocked on purpose, for safety, so triggers can't reach an n8n that only runs on your own network.
Connect n8n
- In TweakTick, create an API key with the Zapier / Make / n8n preset. See the API key preset.
- In n8n, install the community node
n8n-nodes-tweaktick(Settings → Community nodes), then add the TweakTick node (or the TweakTick Trigger node) to a workflow. - When n8n asks for a connection, paste your TweakTick key.
- Pick a trigger and, if you like, one project.
- Turn the workflow on. Add a comment in TweakTick to test it.
Triggers
| Trigger | Fires when |
|---|---|
| New comment | Someone starts a new comment thread |
| Comment replied | Someone replies in a thread |
| Comment updated | The assignee, priority, due date or stage changes |
| Status changed | A comment is resolved or reopened |
| Round approved | A client approves a round |
| Changes requested | A client asks for changes on a round |
| New round | A new round starts |
Every trigger has an optional Project filter.
About stages (In progress, Ready to check):
- Comment updated includes the new stage only when your workspace has comment stages turned on.
- Resolving or reopening a comment clears its stage. That fires Status changed, not Comment updated.
- Status changed shows the actor as
guestwhen the client resolved or reopened the comment. - The stage is not sent to task tools (Asana, ClickUp and the others) yet.
Actions
- Reply to a comment. Replies are internal (agency-only) unless you choose otherwise. A client-visible reply shows on the review, but your client gets no email about it.
- Mark a comment resolved or open.
What stays private
- Internal (agency-only) comments are never sent by triggers.
- Actions that read comments through the API can see internal ones, like any owner's key. Keep internal notes out of steps that post to places your client can see.
- Client emails, tokens and signed review links are never sent.
Turning it off
Turn the workflow off, or revoke the key in Settings → API. Revoking stops every workflow that uses that key.
