Getting started with TweakTick
For agencies and freelancers. TweakTick collects your client's feedback pinned on the work itself, then records their approval.
1. Start a review
- Press New project.
- Pick what to review: a website (enter its address), an image, a PDF, a video or a YouTube link (Review a YouTube video).
- TweakTick prepares the first version (V1). Websites get screenshots at desktop, tablet and phone sizes.
PDF size: a PDF can be up to 50 MB (your plan may allow less). This is the most our PDF renderer takes today, so it's the limit we show and check everywhere, also for PDFs your client sends through a file request that become a version. A bigger PDF is refused before upload, with the limit in the message.
2. Send the link
Open the project and copy its review link. Send it to your client by email or chat. They don't need an account.
Want only certain people to open it? Set the link to Invite only and add their email addresses. Each person confirms with a 6-digit code sent to their email.
3. Read and answer feedback
Each comment sits on a pin, at the exact spot your client clicked. Reply, mark comments Resolved, or keep a comment internal (your team only; clients never see it).
4. Upload the next version
When you've made changes, upload a new version (V2, V3 …). Your client sees the new version and can check what changed.
5. Get the sign-off
When the work is right, your client presses Approve. You get a sign-off record you can keep and share.
Put the review tools on the live site (websites)
Add the TweakTick snippet to the site so clients can comment on the real, working pages. See the install guides: WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Framer or plain HTML. No access to the site's code? Clients can use the extension or bookmarklet.
"Review on the live site" links are short-lived. Each time your client presses the button, the link carries a new one-time code that works for 5 minutes, never the client's own review link. So the address left in the site's server logs can't be reused. If an old live-site address is opened later, it shows "This link expired. Open it again from your email"; in the same browser the button opens a fresh link straight away. Links made before 29 Oct 2026 keep working until 31 Dec 2026.
Comments made on screenshots can show on the live site. When TweakTick can find the same spot on the real page with confidence, the comment appears there as a dashed pin marked approximate. Otherwise it stays in the list under "Couldn't find this spot". An approximate pin is only a guide, never part of the sign-off record.
Keep projects in folders
Use Folders in the sidebar to group projects, for example one folder per client. Folders can hold subfolders, up to 3 levels (Client › Website › Phase 2). Open a folder's ⋯ menu to add a subfolder, rename it or move it. Move a project with the Folder picker on its page.
Deleting a folder never deletes projects: its projects and subfolders move up one level (from a top-level folder, projects become unfiled). If a teammate has access to only some folders, they can add subfolders inside those folders, but not at the top level.
Team access
Owners choose what each teammate sees in Settings → Team: All projects (the default) or Only these folders. You can set it when you invite someone or change it later. Folder access includes every subfolder.
A teammate limited to some folders:
- sees only the projects in those folders, never unfiled projects, and sees a small "Limited access" note
- creates new projects inside those folders only
- gets no emails, Inbox items, mobile notifications, due-date reminders or live updates about other projects, and can't be assigned or @mentioned on them
- doesn't see Settings → Guests, because it lists clients from every project
Owners always see every project and can't be limited. To keep one project to a few people, see Keep a project private to some teammates. Roles and owners: Team roles and owners. Changes apply on the teammate's next page load, and their open live-update connection restarts within about 30 seconds. File links already open in their browser keep working until they expire, at most 2 hours later.
