Client walkthrough
For agencies. Show your client a short tour before they start: up to 5 steps, each with a title, a note and, if you like, a box around the part of the page you mean.
Status: beta, rolling out now.
Write the walkthrough
- Open the project and press Settings.
- Under Client walkthrough, press Add step.
- Give the step a title (up to 80 characters) and a note (up to 500 characters).
- To point at something, pick a page under Point at, then drag on the page to draw a box. Press Whole page to remove the box.
- Add up to 5 steps, put them in order with the arrows, then press Save walkthrough.
Pages come from the latest version of the project. A step can also be text only.
What your client sees
- The first time they open the review link in a browser session, the tour opens. Your welcome note is the first card, then your steps.
- They press Next and Back, or Skip tour. Show the tour on the review page opens it again.
- A step shows its page and box only while that page is in the latest version. After you share a new version, the step shows its text until you pick a page from the new version.
- On your live website (snippet, review page or Chrome extension), the tour shows as text. Your client can open it again from More → Show the tour.
Turn it off
To hide the tour on one project without deleting it, open the project's Settings → Client controls and set Show the client walkthrough to Off. To change the default, go to Settings → Project defaults (workspace owners). To remove it, delete every step and save.
Good to know
- Duplicate copies the steps' titles and notes. Pick the pages again in the copy.
- Only people who can see the project can edit its walkthrough. Every save is in the audit log.
- The walkthrough is included when you export your workspace.
