Keep a project private to some teammates

For agency owners. TweakTick has no "private" switch on a project. Use a folder and folder access instead: only the people you give that folder can see the project.

How to do it

  1. Make a folder for the private work: Folders in the sidebar → new folder (for example "Board pitch").
  2. Move the project into it: open the project and pick the folder in its Folder picker.
  3. Limit the teammates who should not see it. In Settings → Team, set each of them to Only these folders and tick the folders they should see. Leave the private folder unticked.
  4. Give the private folder to the people who should see it. Set them to Only these folders and tick it (plus their other folders), or leave them on All projects.

Good to know

  • Owners always see every project. You can't hide a project from an owner.
  • "All projects" means all. A teammate on All projects sees the private folder too. Only teammates on Only these folders are kept out.
  • Folder access includes every subfolder. Put private work in its own folder, not inside a folder everyone has.
  • A limited teammate also gets no emails, Inbox items or notifications about projects they can't see, and can't be assigned to them.
  • Changes apply on the teammate's next page load. File links already open in their browser keep working until they expire, at most 2 hours later.
  • Your clients are not affected: they see only the review links you send them.
