Cloudflare and bot walls

For agencies. Some sites use Cloudflare or another "bot wall" that shows robots a "checking your browser" page. Our screenshot robot can be stopped by it. Here's what to do.

Option 1: let our robot in (Cloudflare)

If the site is yours or your client's, in Cloudflare:

  1. Go to Security → WAF → Tools.
  2. Add an IP Access rule: Allow our capture IP for this website. The exact IP is shown on the failure card on your project page. This works on the Free plan.
  3. Or turn off Bot Fight Mode (Security → Bots) while the review is running.
  4. Back in TweakTick, press Try the capture again.

Option 2: review on the real site instead

Bot walls only stop robots. A real person in a real browser gets through, so:

  • Add the snippet to the site, and your client comments on the live page. See Getting started.
  • No access to the code? Your client can use the bookmarklet or the Chrome extension. The extension also works on sites with strict security settings that block scripts. See Extension and bookmarklet.

Option 3: upload your own screenshot

Take a full-page screenshot in your browser and use Upload your own screenshot on the project page. Your client reviews it as normal.
